We invited our friends from Kenora who own Mecca Martial Arts in Kenora to bring their kids who have never competed before for a friendly competition! After the kids compete and earn their medals we will celebrate with a pizza party!!!
Time to demonstrate all of the jiu-jitsu skills we’ve all been working on for the past several months and take part in the formal belt grading ceremony. This event will be extra special because we have black belt professors Hannette Staack and Misty Shearer from Brazil-021 present to watch the demos and teach a seminar before the celebration begins! Black Belt Professor Hannette Staack is one of the most accomplished female grapplers in jiu-jitsu history, winning the most prestigious Nogi jiu-jitsu tournament in the world, the ADCC 3 times and the World Championships 7 times in Gi and 1 time in Nogi. She is the co-founder of Team Brazil-021 and this will be her first visit to Winnipeg where she will be teaching a seminar open to the public. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their BJJ technical skills that they’ve been working hard on developing over the past 6 months and will be rewarded with a belt promotion and ceremony. Then we will all celebrate!
